Volume rendering is a technology for visualizing a 3D discretely sampled data set, typically a 3D scalar field. In 3D data visualization, rendering techniques should enable us to understand the structure of the target data while minimizing the data feature occlusion. We research a screen space viewpoint guide model that utilizes information entropy based on the rendered image in real-time.

Volume rendering is a technology for visualizing a 3D discretely sampled data set, typically a 3D scalar field. In 3D data visualization, rendering techniques should enable us to understand the structure of the target data while minimizing the data feature occlusion. In this paper, we propose a screen space viewpoint guide model that utilizes information entropy based on the rendered image in real-time. The proposed model can perform the viewpoint adjustment continuously while changing the transfer function.
